Peyton Nowlin a Masonic lecturer arrived last Friday and remains a guest of Tar Leaver editor. He lectured to Gra ham Lodge last Friday and Saturday, but an attack of grip has impeded his work. Col R C McPhaill is down with la grippe this week. V F Gorrissen holds a large stock of cheap pretty goods in town. One hundred dollars cash, apply to Mrs T D Twain Graham Texas. In the Justice court on Monday A RK McDonald was tried for assault on Mr C Rutherford and was acquitted by the jury.

Carpet Tacks 2 1 2 cents per paper, Sewing Machine Oil 5 cents per bottle, Tooth Picks 5 cents per package, Blacking 5 cents per box, 3 quires paper 25 cents, 3 bottles ink 10 cents.
A fragment describes a closed busy day at a storefront. An advert lists dried fruits and fresh crops from Morrison Street & Co. while urging debts be settled. Vendors like Forp Bros and Browam Cras Co are mentioned with Christmas gift prompts and a plea to pay outstanding accounts.
Morrison Street and Company advertises a stray or stolen item with a ten dollar reward while Brittam Crain and Company invites customers to view stock and recommends school shoes, breakfast foods, and Our Family packages.
Mr. C Q Horton led bridge work in Graham after visiting the site. The new Brazos bridge near Young county, 356 feet total with two 178 foot spans, is praised as sturdy and handsome with buck horn portals donated by L P Brooks. The celebration included a roadside dinner on the bridge, music, and a quadrille, with praise for Chicago Bridge and Iron Co for completing the project promptly and well.
In Graham the Young County Teachers Institute approves a weekly space in Tar Leappr for educational notes. J N Johnston is local editor. The plan asks for teacher and trustee cooperation, reports from all schools, and questions to be answered next week. Answers must be under 100 words. An 1893 local notice lists goods for sale at the Racket Store including Fall Cream Cheese Fine Toilet Soap lunch baskets and a large selection of fireworks and dominoes for 59 cents. Also published is the Graham post office weekly letter list for December 18 stating letters advertised and charged a penny, with several names named. A business note proclaims Bigham Crain Co formed from Dixon and others and advertises groceries and cash sales, plus promotional lines for silk handkerchiefs kid gloves and Xmas fireworks.
Stewart Bros of Gertrude Lost Valley offer a choice lot of thoroughbred shorthorn calves with milk and beef strains. Prices are reasonable, enabling stock men to secure blooded animals without the acclimation risk of Northern stock.
