Sam Robinson Dead in Murray Community
Sam Robinson died at his parents home near Murray last Tuesday night after a lingering bout with typhoid fever. His body was laid to rest at 5 o'clock yesterday in Tyra cemetery. A respected hard working man and longtime Methodist, he was held in high esteem by the Murray community. Sympathy is extended to his bereaved parents, brothers and sisters.

Killing at Newcastle Ends Miles Jones Life
Miles Jones was shot dead at his Newcastle home around 2:30 Tuesday evening by Henry Daniels who fired a shotgun in the presence of Jones's 11 year old son on the porch. Daniels returned to the mines, summoned officers, and was jailed after being brought here by auto. An examining trial is set for Saturday. Jones was buried yesterday afternoon. Both men had worked in the mines Tuesday morning.

Will Teach in Graham Again
Miss Sallie F. Chism will teach oratory again this year at Graham High School and will occupy the same room as last year. Her department’s quality is praised by friends and pupils. She has won a strong reputation as an oratory teacher in leading state colleges. Her work last year satisfied many who urged another term.

A pleasant gathering of longtime Young County friends occurred at F. L. Adair's Memphis Texas home. Attendees included W. M. Fore and wife Rob McLaren and family Lewis Wheat and wife C. W. Sabbath Services Report Across Pulpits and Choir
Last Sunday, Sabbath School and morning services were well attended with regular pastors in charge. Rev. Rouse spoke on The Three Visions, Rev. McMurray on The Christian and His Family, and Rev. Pearce on What Must I Do to Be Saved. A ladies quartet sang Nearer to Thee. Rev. Singleton preached to children with word pictures. Outdoor rain disrupted young people service though some gathered for Life Building on God’s Plan led by Mrs. Rose. Instead of a union evening service, a short prayer and thanksgiving was held led by Rev. Singleton.

First Bales Of Cotton Sold In Graham Season
The season’s first bale arrived Tuesday night from G A Woodraw nine miles east on the Cotton place and the second bale came in from J E Martin seven miles west yesterday morning. Merchants raised a $33 premium, split $22 to Woodraw and $11 to Martin, with both bales later sold to Jno E Morrison Company and 8 B Street & Co. respectively.
