Death of R L Brandon in Graham Texas
R L Brandon died at his home in Graham on April 3 after an illness beginning February 6. He was 76, born March 12, 1838 in De Kalb county Alabama, came to Texas at 21, married, had 10 children, most survived. He joined the Presbyterian church in Alabama and later the Methodist church in Coryell county. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery was attended by a large crowd and Confederate veterans, who laid cedar sprigs in his memory. Widow and family blessed by prayers.

Catch Large Yellow Catfish On Stovall Plantation
Joe T and Dick Carter caught a yellow catfish weighing seventy five and a half pounds in the Clear Fork river on the Stovall plantation last Saturday morning. The creature measured eight inches between the eyes and thirty seven inches around the widest part of the body with a length of fifty three inches from nose to tail.
