Pair of Wife Swappers Freed by North Dakota Judge

Minot, North Dakota, June 9. District Judge C W Butts freed Mr and Mrs Lawrence Hikansrud and Mr and Mrs Willis Knight Remyille from legal entanglements after more than a year of attention. The four county farmers, married 12 and 18 years respectively, faced unusual accusations of wife swapping. Judge Butts said punishment would come only from conscience.

Radio SOS disruptions draw federal probe in June

Washington reports the Federal Radio Commission asked the commerce department radio division to survey 0 0 8 calls linked to disrupted broadcasts by James A Reed. Detroit Blast Kills Four Laborers in Water Works Tunnel

A Detroit water works tunnel explosion near Belle Isle killed four laborers instantly and left eight more injured. Fifteen other workers were rescued. the blast occurs 227 feet below the river surface with about 36 men in the tunnel at the time.

Pilot Missing On Flight For Newport RI

Mystery surrounds the disappearance of Johnny Kelley Jr. 31, a Stinson-Detroit monoplane pilot from Wayne Michigan, on a flight from Newport RI. June 9. He took off in foggy conditions and had telephoned Newport seeking landing updates before disappearing near Narragansett Bay Babbo.

Six Doomed Men Believe Decision Extends Lifespan

In Raiford Florida on June 9 the death row inmates held that a court ruling declaring the legislature's official executioner law unconstitutional has postponed executions. Attorney General Fred A. Davis said an appeal would go to the state supreme court. If the high court affirms, executions would be halted until the legislature acts in a new session set for April 1931.
