Calico Queen Contest aims for fair funds and crown
The 5th annual Calico Queen contest seeks to raise funds for the Taylor County Fair and elect a Calico Queen. The Grafton Sentinel offers 20 percent of new subscription money and 7 percent of renewals to contestants, with top prizes a $100, $75, and $50 U.S. Savings Bond for first through third places. Maids of Honor will serve in the Queen's Court. The event runs June 10 to August 5, with votes by ballot tied to subscriptions and renewals, and a coronation on August 27 during the county fair.
