Fox Fox warns against five per cent beer label rules and 3.2 per cent sale until March 1. Tax Commissioner Fred L Fox says the act is not signed yet and, if signed, will bar alcohol content on labels and terms like high test or extra strength. Distribution licenses may be revoked by the state. Charleston, Feb 25.
Blizzards, tornadoes and dust storms span the Midwest killing four and injuring more than ten. Tornadoes struck a triangular arc from Wichita to Commerce and Joe EB, Missouri, with damage surpassing $200,000. Other deaths occurred in Oklahoma and Illinois amid blinding snow and dust storms. Planes grounded and temperatures plummeted toward zero.

Fairmont reports the second trial of Drexel George, former deputy sheriff, on embezzlement charges, postponed as defense affidavits are prepared for a continuance. Judge Miller recessed until 1:30 pm to rule on the motion as the state resists delaying the case. The indictment alleges about $19,000 taken from the sheriff’s funds.
William C. Howard of Wheeling is appointed clerk of the U S court for the Northern District of West Virginia by Judge W E B Baker. He succeeds the late Austin C Merrill and was sworn in. Howard, a former assistant U S attorney and Yale and Virginia law graduate, has practiced in Wheeling.
The Chamber of Commerce of the United States urged immediate repeal of the income tax return publication law. It argued that disclosure would reveal business and private affairs to competitors and be misused in obtaining credit ratings or locating prospects, aiding personal curiosity and racketeering.

Oak Hill West Virginia February 25 Nine Virginian railroad freight trainmen were injured in a head on collision near the Winston tunnel five miles from Oak Hill Brakeman B L Graham of Mullens was slightly hurt and transported to Oak Hill hospital. Unknown cause reported. Tommy Lackey 32 a Negro of Richmond Kentucky is jailed awaiting Kentucky officers on charges connected to the 1932 stabbing death of James Ballard also of Richmond Huntington police say. Lackey admitted stabbing Ballard during a quarrel over a girl and waived extradition.
Frederick Maryland couple Mr and Mrs A C Cronise celebrate 62 years of marriage dating from 1873 the pair recall life at Harmony Grove and attribute long happiness to shared devotion and stable home ties.
Somerset, Feb 28 A jealous wife Eva Cooper Wolson 38 is jailed on murder charges after the fatal shooting of Mrs Marie Dutton Wilson 35 in a Monticello theater lobby. The slain woman was the wife of Truesdale Wilson. The husband issued a statement as the case unfolds.
Desk Sergeant Edward Davis of Englewood station correctly identifies a found animal as a didelphidae marsupial, specifically didelphis virginiana. He notes it is boreal nocturnal and potentially edible, and plans to demonstrate the animal’s flavor if no owner claims it.

Eight-year-old twins John and Margaret Miller were found wandering on the Baltimore Washington pike by a Maryland county officer after an all night search. They said they wandered through Indian Creek swamp until nightfall and slept in a vine thicket, using their coats as shelter. They were brought to their parents, Mr and Mrs George F Miller, who had joined the search after the picnic near the swamp.

Wheeling February 25. Sheriff Will E. Long age 65 died today in Wheeling hospital after an appendicitis attack. He was a longtime figure in Tyler county politics and regarded as the dean of sheriffs in West Virginia. Born in Tyler County, he began public life in 1900 as assessor and later served two terms before his 1908 election as sheriff.
Washington on February 25 reports the National Recovery Administration has created a special board to study textile industry conditions and potential code revisions amid rising discontent from manufacturers and labor. The move, seen as aimed at staving off a looming spring textile strike, follows labor demands for higher wages and stricter code enforcement.
Charleston February 25 Dr O T Lyon a Charleston dentist was called to trial in Intermediate court on charges of slaying Lou Topper a Brooklyn Walkathon contest manager. Topper was shot to death at the hotel last August after alleged attentions paid to.
The District of Columbia commissioners awarded a contract for 750000 bricks to Continental Clay Products Company of West Virginia with plants at Martinsburg and North Mountain. President E T Chewning told Representative Randolph that the order would provide two months work at the plants.
Romford England Feb 23 A coroner jury finds Jane and Elizabeth Du Bois died by their own action while of unsound mind after a Paris bound plane plunge. The sisters left farewell notes read in open court. letters expressed grief over the death of two Royal Air Force officers and a romantic attachment. The letters were publicly read despite protests from U S consul Franklin D Gowen who sought private submission.
Attorney Eu gene Sommerville failed to gain a third continuance in the civil suit of Clarence Swisher against Ella V. Shaw in Taylor county circuit court. Illness of the plaintiff's witnesses was cited, but the court refused another postponement. The case was ordered to trial two weeks from today, with dismissal if costs are not paid.
Prosecutor dismisses appeal from Magistrate Ona C. Jefferys court in the Samuel Berio Jr non support case. Judge H. W. Deny cites lack of jurisdiction due to financial interest and improper warrant service outside district. Attorney W P Samples secured the dismissal. Holt did not oppose.
