Another Man Slain By Jail Breaker in Galax
In Galax Virginia on February 23 a bullet riddled body identified as Dave Leonard, relative of Howard Delp, was found on Jim Brady’s porch in East Galax after a jail break. Leonard was to be released on bond and was in the town jail when the escape occurred. Brady reported Leonard asked to come in to warm himself at 3 am. two shots were fired as the door closed. The killer of Chief Posey Martin remains at large. Leonard’s slayer is unknown.
