Following the household goods sale, a cattle auction occurred at Grodland sale yards. An Erickson sale is planned for September 30 with livestock, horses, cattle, and machinery, near Grachtinger.

Elmer Olson announces an auction at Grodland sale yard in Graettinger on Saturday September 27 featuring 80 head of Duroc Jersey hogs and 20 head of young cattle. Auctioneers are M. D. Grodland and Matern of Wealey. clerk is Vincent Kelly. Olson will mail a sale catalogue to interested bidders.

Letter From Africa Reports First White Child Born in Yola Province

A letter from Alfred Thompson of Nigeria states that LeRoy Alfred Thompson was born July 17 in Yola Province, the first white child to live there. The note places Thompson at Numan, 200 miles east of Walari, and identifies him as a Sudan United Mission missionary.

Young Couple Married Monday in Estherville

Arthur Bergum and Dagmar Peterson united in marriage at Estherville last Monday afternoon. After their ceremony they traveled to Sioux City for a brief honeymoon and will reside in LeMars where Bergum and Walter Petersen own a moving picture show. The bride, daughter of Soren Petersen, is employed as a clerk in Graettinger and is praised for courtesy and friendship. The groom, son of E A Bergum, grew up in Graettinger and will continue the LeMars business with Petersen. The Graettinger community offers hearty congratulations and best wishes for their future.
