Infant Dies in Sleep Near Emmetburg
Last Saturday afternoon the infant son Melvin Place died while sleeping at home northeast of the city. The healthy baby, born August 6, grew rapidly but became unusually restless that day. Father Mr Place laid him on his side, covered him with a blanket, and Mosquito bag was used to deter flies. Mrs Place went to wash, then to the kitchen, returning to find Melvin dead. Neighbors Mrs Bell and Mrs Thompson assisted before help arrived.
