Sad death of Ruthven young man Amos Hanson
Amos A Hanson of Ruthven Iowa died Sunday afternoon at Spencer Hospital from injuries when a team hitched to a spreader ran away in a Ruthven field. His left shoulder was dislocated and internal injuries caused his death at age 22 years 8 months 1 day. He lived with his parents Mr and Mrs Martin G Hanson and was survived by six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Seventh Day Adventist church in Ruthven with Rev J C Nixon of Nevada Iowa presiding. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.

Michael Quinn seriously injured by tractor plow
Michael Quinn of southwest of Graettinger was seriously injured Wednesday forenoon while operating a tractor plow. He fell in front of the plows and suffered deep abdominal injuries with bruises to his back and legs. Dr. McManus and a Paulsen ambulance rushed him to Coleman hospital at Estherville. he was conscious and resting but very serious. He and brother Matt were plowing. the plows moved as the power was turned on after an adjustment. Mary Quinn, a sister, reported his condition remained grave but stable. He is about 45, single, living on the family farm with Matt and Mary, pioneer locals in the area.

Max Baumgartner purchased the Henry Hansen residence in Grasttinger for 3900 dollars and will take possession late this week or early next. Mr and Mrs Hansen will move to Garri son Iowa where Hansen will work at a creamery. The Baumgartners had previously lived at the FP J McCarty residence, once home to the late Dr P J Hession, with McCarty and sister moving in Tuesday after selling that property.
