Mrs Anna Jorgensen visited Peter Jorgensen in Ken Sett Ia. Mrs D G Barringer enjoyed a visit from her mother Mrs James Harper and son Glenn of Evanville Wis. Miss Lyda Hester arrived from Chicago to visit her parents Mr and Mrs J H Hester. A son was born to Mr and Mrs August Baekda on Tuesday Sept 4. Mr and Mrs E A Baumgartner and Mildred motored to Ames Marshalltown and Des Moines and attended the Iowa State Fair. Miss Veronica Weinholzer of Mallard, a Mayo nurse, is visiting her grandmother Mrs Weinholzer.
Palo Alto County entries in the 4-H Home Furnishing division at the 1953 Town State Fair earned 12 blue ribbons with four red and two white awards.
