Weekend pheasant hunting plan in Palo Alto county aims to limit battles and enforce game laws on Friday and Saturday. Hunters urged to follow regulations on weapon handling, highway safety, and permission from landowners. The Crago Players a stock company from Estherville will present Judy O Grady at the Hawkeye theatre Thursday evening of next week. Vaudeville specialties will accompany the production. The troupe has drawn praise from Graettinger residents who saw them in Estherville and plan possible visits to Graettinger on future Thursdays. Also noted is a public sale hosted by Luta Range near Wallingford with a lunch at noon and sale of gardening equipment wood an Overland car and household goods. Mr and Mrs R M Butler of California have located in Grad tin wey and plan to start an insurance and farm loan business. Butler has no residence yet and Graettinger notes several vacant houses. The Butler family previously resided in Ringsted where Butler was a bank cashier for eleven years.
Charley Jensen is installing a Colonial furnace in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Lost Island and a hot water furnace in the BE J Mitchell residence recently purchased by the Norwegian Lutheran Ladies Aid society.
A report warns residents of Graettinger about two men selling stock in a sham outfit called The Community Service Station Co. They used Iowa license plates and varied states to deceive buyers into thinking they were investing in a real oil station company. The ruse reportedly sold thousands elsewhere. local victims are not confirmed. Henry Hansen wins national dairy expo honors in Memphis.
Charley Jensen conducts a week long stove sale featuring Riverside Radianas and Riverside Bakswell ranges. A 26 piece silverware set is given free with each stove sold. Mr Jensen reports a very successful sale.
Marvin Christiansen 19 and two Fonda schoolmates played with wooden darts at school. A sharp point pierced Christiansen's right eye forcing removal of the eye at Fort Dodge hospital. Fred Hurlburt mourns his mother in Chicago after her death.
St Mary's of Emmetsburg defeated Fort Dodge 88 to 7 on Sunday afternoon. The lopsided win bolsters St Mary's hopes in the state championship and highlights a standout football season for the St Mary's squad.
James Wilson of Fairmont reports new bowling alleys costing 10 000 were installed in his city. Fairmont hosts several bowling teams with a weekly event reserved for the laton.

Mr and Mrs A H Henningsen and daughter Doris were injured when a Nash sedan side swiped their Chevrolet coach at an intersection half a mile from Superior on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Henningsen suffered a torn ligament and bruises. Mrs Henningsen and Doris were cut and bruised. They were treated in Estherville and left for home the same day. The Henningsens had earlier been involved in a Wisconsin incident near Ladysmith with injuries and car damage.

Miss Rohlf aged 28 of Decorah died suddenly in Des Moines Capitol theatre last week after heart failure while passing seats. She collapsed and died on laps of nearby spectators in the venue.
The open season for pheasant shooting in Palo Alto County starts October 21 and 22 this week followed by Friday and Saturday, and again Saturday of the following week.
Mrs McMackin was bound over on manslaughter charges and freed by a Fairmont Minnesota grand jury after twenty minutes of deliberation. The Buick collided with the McMackin Hudson injuring Mrs McMackin and wounding four others while a 12 year old boy died. a civil action for $5000 followed. Multiple exchanges report Guilford Paulsen of Graettinger has been sold to Detroit Ameri cans. Paulsen played for the Danville Illinois club last year and led the Three-In League in pitching. He has been the property of the St. Louis Cardinals, and if true this sale likely transfers him outright to Detroit. Dr Sevatson Enjoying Good Practice in Wallingford.
The Boston Novelty Company presents a musical program at Hawkeyes Theatre this evening under PTA auspices. Admission is 50 cents for adults and 26 cents for children.
Mr. Leonard Johnson and Miss Mildred Moraine married October 11 in Corona California at First Methodist with Rev Smith officiating. They honeymoon at Catalina Islands then plan to settle in Prado California where the groom works for Excelsior Creamery Co. Home to friends after October 20. O. R. Gardner and Son conducted a splendid sale on Tuesday with hogs averaging 48 dollars and shoats at 20 dollars. Top price reached 80 dollars as buyers secured bargains. Though averages were solid, exceptional Gardner quality hogs fetched higher value in Graettinger territory.
E P Duhn has installed a new Jay Bee feed grinder and will soon have it ready for operation. The machine requires a sixty horsepower motor, which his tractor will supply. The grinder can reduce any feed to any degree of fineness, and business in this line should begin in a few days.
