Health facility permits move under national plan
A revision by the division of civilian health requirements of the National Production Authority requires hospital division endorsement for building health facilities in Iowa. Permits to construct or remodel must be filed with the Iowa Department of Health to obtain priority for steel copper or aluminum supplies. Lightning hits Milford farm barn again? second time

Farmer Burned in Gas Explosion Near Carpenter
Lawrence Borchardt, a farmer from near Carpenter in Mitchell county, was seriously burned last week when a gas explosion ripped through a recreation cabin as he tried to light a gas plate. His face and both arms were badly burned. Two companions suffered minor burns.
