Mrs. Bakers Death and Funeral in Emmetsburg
Mrs. David Bakers funeral was held at 2 30 PM at the Emmetsburg Methodist church with Reverends Clegs and Brereton officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen cemetery. Esther Charlotte Groat, born Whitby Ontario April 20 1856, married David Baker in October 1882 and leaves a stepson Arthur, a sister in West Bend, and brothers Amose Groat in Memphis Michigan and Charles Groat in Brooklin Ontario. The deceased had been ill three years from heart leakage and dropsy. She joined the Baptist faith early, later aligning with the Methodist church in Emmetsburg. Her cheerful disposition and faith were noted. Sympathy extended to surviving relatives.
