Mrs. D Carroll Dies at 103 in Emmetsburg
Mrs Dennis Carroll passed away at her daughter Mrs Nick Martini’s home in Emmetsburg on Monday. Funeral was held Wednesday. Carroll family dates to a near farm in Emmetsburg sixty six years ago and earlier residences include Lost Island township and early moves through South Dakota and St Paul. Mr Carroll worked on an early railroad into Chicago from the east.

Tragedy Strikes Mother of Imprisoned Monarchs Near Emmetsburg
A sad tragedy occurred near the Court House at Emmetsburg when Mrs. Wm Monarch, aged 65 to 70, died of heart weakness as she approached her car to visit her sons Mike and Heine Monarch, who were imprisoned for 80 days for violating game laws. The burial will be at St. Joe, with the family residing in West Ben in. The incident occurred shortly before noon, the body taken to the home for burial, as relatives mourned under the sorrowful circumstances.
