Mother’s Death Shocks Emmetsburg Family

Mrs Emily Hughes of Emmetsburg passed away Friday at one o’clock after a long illness dating to May. Born 1846 in Brock Ontario, she married Henry Dayton, later B I Hughes. Survived by five daughters, four brothers, and many friends. Funeral conducted at home then Meth odist church with interment at New Hampton.

C D Doolittle of Des Moines, once a Webster City resident, cleared 11500 from an Estherville area land deal. Six months earlier he bought a 229 acre farm near Estherville for 18600 and yesterday sold it for 30000, netting a substantial profit.
