Emergency Grain Permits Extended in Iowa

The Iowa Department of Transportation Commission, after talks with Governor Robert Ray, extends emergency grain permits that allow up to 80,000 pound loads. The extension runs to midnight December 17, 1977. No extra fee for current permit holders. New overweight permits cost $20 for tractor-trailers and $10 for straight trucks, obtainable at DOT offices or the 24 hour Regional Truck Penny Center in Des Moines.

Graettinger City Council Adopts Natural Gas Rates

Graettinger Iowa council passes ordinance establishing monthly natural gas rates for residential commercial and air conditioning use. Rates set with tiered per 100 cubic feet charges and minimums, with 5 percent late fee and right to future adjustments. Ordinance effective after final passage and publication.

Snowmobile registration reminders for 1978 season

Iowa Conservation Commission reminds snowmobile owners that 1977 registrations expire at midnight December 31. Registrations for 1978 may be obtained at county recorder offices or from Conservation Commission waters officers. Fee is 6.50 dollars. Copies of new regulations available upon request at county offices or by writing to the Iowa Conservation Commission.
