Obituary: S R Young Dies After Fodder Accident

S R Young, 68, longtime Graettinger resident, died Saturday at 4 30 pm from injuries after a load of corn fodder toppled at a Rock Inland rail crossing. He fell six hours earlier, was rescued, and suffered two broken ribs and a forehead bruise. Funeral Tuesday at his residence and Methodist church. He leaves a widow Jennis Hightower, seven children, three brothers, and several grandchildren.

Bazaar and Chicken Supper At Hawk Eye Saturday

The M. F. Latics Aid Society hosts its annual bazaar and lunch in the Hawkeye Theatre basement on Saturday November 11. A splendid chicken supper with trim mings starts at 6 30 pm and is expected to draw a large crowd.

Pheasant Season Opens In This Section Friday

The pheasant season opens Friday with hunting allowed on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 12 to 1. The game hours extend to the following Friday and Saturday and on November 25 and 28. Christensen Family Plans Move After Auction Near Gracttinger

L. E. Christensen and family will leave the Gracttinger area after an auction on Wednesday November 22 as they quit farming and move to Pequot Minnesota. The Christensens intend to relocate March first, joining relatives there, per the Times notice.

Agent B H Horswell of Dows, formerly of Graebtinger, was injured Friday while unloading freight when an apron between the unloading platform and the freight car floor slipped. Funeral for Kermit Kohlstedt Held in Fenton

Funeral services for Kermit Kohlstedt of Fenton who drowned in Mud Lake last Thursday were held Monday, with large attendance. The 21 year old is survived by his mother and four siblings who live on a farm three miles from Fenton. His father was recently killed in a wagon accident.

Mrs. Herman Doerning Dead Funeral Saturday

Mrs. Herman Doerning died Wednesday evening at 4 45 at her daughter Mrs. Jake Ledue s home after a brief illness. Her husband Mr. Doerning passed away a little over a year ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Ledue home at one o clock with interment in Emmetsburg cemetery. The obituary will appear in next week s Times.

Bandit Gang Robbed Mallard Couple Of $2,000

A six or seven man bandit group robbed Mr and Mrs Gneuple of Mallard of 2000 in cash and 3500 in securities mostly registered bonds. The robbers bound and gagged three Gneuple brothers and a nephew, stayed until two pm, and tied the horses to hide their tracks. Mrs Gneuple suffered broken ribs. Sheriff Montgomery investigated after the alarms were raised.

First National Plans Reorganization Proposal

H A Eisenbast cashier of the First National presented a reorganization plan in Chicago to Federal Reserve officials overseeing unlicensed banks. The plan was forwarded to the U S Comptroller of the Currency in Washington amid calls from Graettinger business leaders for favorable consideration and more time for restructuring.

Pickets were in Palo Alto and along Highway 18 near Emmetsburg on Wednesday with about forty men stationed just outside Emmetsburg. Sheriff Montgomery dispersed the pickets in the afternoon.
