Obituary of Albert Junkus Anderson born in Tonsborg Norway on March 16 1861 immigrating to Iowa at age ten. Lived in Emmet County for over sixty years and farmed in High Lake Township later near Mud Lake. Married Julia Paulson on June 12 1888 with two surviving daughters Ada and Odellx, plus sisters Susis Bronson and Olga Peterson and brothers P S Anderson and C O Anderson. Robbery defendant admits guilt and faces ten years
Melvin Hare, 27, Estherville, pled guilty to a Town Pup robbery in Fort Madison. He attempted to establish an alibi for July 18, then for July 25 and 26 after the indictment date was corrected. Judge Davisson sentenced him to ten years in the penitentiary at Fort Madison.

Peglow Sale Near Ruthven Brings High Prices

Remains Of Mrs. Herman Doerning Laid To Rest
Mrs. Herman Doerning died after a paralytic stroke at 88 and was buried at Evergreet cemetery Emmetsburg after services at the Leduc home. Survivors include two sons four daughters 27 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with many relatives from Wisconsin Minnesota and Iowa attending the funeral.

Little Symphony Concert In Estherville Sunday
The Estherville Little Symphony orchestra will give its first concert of the season Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Estherville high school auditorium. It will feature the Presbyterian church quartet from Estherville and a male quartet, also from Estherville, noted as the best in northwest Iowa. The orchestra’s numbers will be of last year’s high quality. A ten cent charge will offset expenses. No reserved seats. LeRoy Kartleman of Gruettinger is a first violin, his son Donteld a second violin. Many Gruettinger residents are expected to attend.

The M. By ladies held their annual bazaar Saturday afternoon and evening at the Hawkeye Theatre. Fancy work and other items were sold, lunch served, and at 5:30 p.m. a chicken supper began. A good crowd attended the meal, and receipts were satisfactory. gratitude was extended to the public for patronage. Lost their baby girl in Ruthven area tragedy
Mr and Mrs Leslie Smith of weet of Gruettinger lost their baby girl last week. The child died during treatment at Spencer hospital. Funeral was held from the grandparents’ home in Ruthven last Wednesday. The Smiths have one other daughter and many friends extend sincere sympathy.
