Mrs. Emilie Petton Mueller Dies At Fenton

Mrs. Emilie Petton Mueller died at her home in Fenton on October 24 at age 78 years 7 months 20 days. Born in Germany February 25 1866 she emigrated to America at 16 and married Ferdinand Mueller in Chicago. The Muellers later settled near Fenton and had 18 children of whom six predeceased her. Surviving are William Theodore Louis Ernst Ferdinand and several daughters. 36 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 27 at St John Lutheran Church with burial in Lotts Creek Cemetery.

Ruthven widow Anna Gaard dies. funeral held

Mrs Anna Christina Gaard of Ruthven, mother of Dr Bertha Gaard of Estherville, died Friday evening. Survived by two sons Dr Christ Gaard of Tacoma and Harold Gari of Seattle, five other children. Funeral held yesterday as the family, noted for its standing, mourns. Next Sunday sermon at Emmetsburg on The Devil and The Drake Estate with a bazaar and supper to follow at Hawkeye Theatre basement.

Drowning at Mud Lake Near Barnhart Home

Kermit Kohlstedt 21 of Fenton drowned when a boat capsized while hunting near Mud Lake north of the Barnhart home about 300 feet from shore. Two companions, Fred Martinsen and Reinhold Laabs, reached shore. Laabs in serious condition. Body recovered later this afternoon.

Local Fans Attend Minnesota Iowa Game Saturday

Local fans journeyed to Minneapolis to see the Minnesota Iowa clash. Notables include A. P. Thompson Supt. McMullen Oral Bonatead Edward Sullivan of Gractinger and Supt. Voniasen of Ruthven. The Gractinger Chevrolet traveled 185 miles in three and a half hours. Iowa's Dick Crayne sparked a 66 yard TD run and Laws and Lund battled hard, but Minnesota held a close lead in a highly anticipated national contest.

Neighbors Husk 1000 Bushels of Corn for Injured Neighbor
