Gypsies Touched Oscar Hauge For $17 In Cash
Oscar Hauge, manager of the Sinclair Oil station, reported theft of $17 after a car of gypsies, including several women and one man, stopped for gas. While filling the tank the women asked for a road map, and later the money drawer was tapped. The billfold in Hauge’s pocket disappeared and the money replaced. Marshal Blom trailed the gypsies to Estherville but could not locate them. Earlier, several wagon loads camped at Estherville and scattered next day. Other stations reported losses of $66 and $85 in similar robberies in northwest Town. Twin girls born in Kiron area tragedy obituary
Mrs. J. B. Maloney of Macomba Michigan died after a caesarian at Coleman hospital Estherville following the birth of twin girls. The funeral was held at Estherville. She was 22, born August 11 1907, married August 21 1929. Many Graettinger residents attended. A longer obituary will appear next week. Mr and Mrs L P C Larsen plan a California move for health treatment, leasing their home.

Nannie Fields born 1866 in Holly Springs Mississippi died May 9 1981 at age 65 in Graettinger Iowa. She married Thomas Marshall in 1881 and lived west of Oxgooil. Funeral services were held at M H church with Rev FreMont Baul officiating and interment east of Graettinger. She leaves Lula May Webb her daughter two grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. An auction in Grachtinger Tuesday afternoon drew a large crowd and produced prices far above expectations.
