Wet and dry conventions in Emmetsburg nominated delegates for the election on Tuesday June 20. Dr Kenney Mallard became the dry delegate and Dr Weber West Bend the wet delegate. The dry gathering at the Iowa Theatre featured a program with Ruth Rawleigh Graettinger and Rev Gaard Cylinder speaking on prohibition and bootlegging. County officers and a nominating committee were chosen, with Dr George H Keeny Mallard named as delegate. Close to 200 attended, signaling growing dry strength.

Thieves Take Fifty Gallons From Local Station
Thieves forced two locks at Christiansen oil station on the state road in the west part of Grachtinger Tuesday night and pumped fifty gallons from the underground tank. An attempt was made to open a third lock and to pry the decor lock. The culprits fled south in a car with small tires. Local police investigate with no arrests yet. A year ago the pump lock was broken in the same manner but only ten gallons were taken.

August Dobberstein 75 a long time resident died at his farm home Saturday morning at six o clock of a heart attack. He was born April 6 1858 in Germany and came to America 50 years ago. Survived by two sons Frank and John and a daughter Mrs Elmer Herbrandsen of Minot ND. Funeral at St Patrick Catholic Estherville with interment at Greene. The body to be taken overland by Mahlum and Anderson coach.

Three Injured In Auto Wreck Near Renwick
Lawrence Larson and his daughter Violet of Roland and Miss Jacobsen, walking from Des Moines to Estherville, were seriously injured when their car rolled twice near Renwick last week. Mrs L E Richardson Dies After Illness in Cherokee
Mrs L E Richardson of Graettinger died Saturday May 6 at Seaman Hospital Cherokee after decline from prior illness and a surgical operation. Survived by husband Lemuel K Richardson nine children ten grandchildren and three sisters. Funeral held Tuesday at residence and Methodist Episcopal church with Rev Carl Hammer. Interment in Graettinger cemetery. Relatives from Algona Lake City Yetter and Auburn attended.
