Max Baumgartner son of Mr and Mrs FE A Baumgartner of this city and Miss Ruth Ann Ericson daughter of Mr and Mrs Toa Ericson of Kensett Iowa were united in marriage at Kensett on Sunday at 2 30 in the Lutheran church with Rev Sigmund officiating. The couple were attended by Dr Norman Osher and Miss Esther Ericson. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served and the couple left for a honeymoon in the east visiting Chicago Buffalo New York Washington DC and other points. They will reside in the city. The bride, a Gradlinger High School graduate, worked at Osher Department Store as bookkeeper and cashier. The groom, a Graettinger High School graduate, is in the family shop and is active in local business. Best wishes are extended for a happy married life.

Roof Blaze at McCarty Home Sunday Morning
Firefighters from Gracttinger were called to P J McCarty residence Sunday forenoon to extinguish a roof blaze. Sparks from the chimney started the fire on the south side aided by a north wind. A large section of shingles burned and a sizable hole appeared in the roof. quick arrival of the chemical apparatus prevented a disaster.

Fire destroys Bonstead brooders killing four hundred chicks
Mrs. A. d. Bonstead of west of town lost four hundred baby chicks when her brooder house burned last Monday. The fire started from an oil stove. A strong wind aided rescue until it shifted ten minutes later, then saving the residence would have been nearly impossible. Mrs. Bonstead suffered notable losses.

Emmetsburg and Gracitinger men collided on a west gravel road when the Timmer Johnson car struck the Charles Berger vehicle as Berger crossed from Craven to Myron Fogie. Mrs Johnson sustained minor cuts from glass, both cars were wrecked, Berger had a quantity of apples in the cay and was covered with sealed sunshine. Johnson and Berger are local residents with ties to agriculture and business.
