Forest fires rage across northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan with hundreds of volunteer firefighters aiding in control. Gilmore City Bank Robbed Monday Morning

Bandits robbed Gilmore Exchange Bank of about 6000 dollars after abducting Senator Van Alstine his wife and relatives Sunday evening and forcing workers to line up. Victims were guarded while the vault was opened and 5000 dollars taken before the suspects fled toward Humboldt. No trace has been found.

Wool growers in Palo Alto County will form a wool pool to market fleeces after a April 24 meeting of the Palo Alto County Fleece Wool Growers. The pool will operate at Emmetsburg May 31 to June 1 with bids opening and sales expected June 1. A five member committee led by Geo Jacobs will manage bids. growers may reject bids.
