Death of Ernest Peton Prompts Graettinger Funeral
Ernest Henry Peton of Graettinger died Monday after a long illness. The German Lutheran service was held at his residence and at the M and M church with Rev. Wagner officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery north of town. Survived by his wife and 10 children, plus three sisters. a large gathering attended. Peton, born February 25 1866 in Germany, came to America at 14 and raised a big family in this region.

Corn Growers Organize for Price Control and Policy

School Improvement Plans Include $10000 Election Funds
The proposal authorizes ten thousand dollars for school improvement to be voted on next Monday. About five thousand will fund building two rooms on the south side of the current grade building. Approximately two thousand covers desks and similar classroom equipment. One thousand five hundred buys a ventilating system motor and coil for the high school. A shortage of desks limits placement space.
Dust Storm Attacks Town With Roaring Winds
A northwest wind of about 8 30 p.m. caused a ten minute dust storm that turned the town to a cloud of dust. A low hazy sunset lit by intermittent lightning followed. No rain arrived and no damage reported. A warm southerly wind earlier filled the day with dust. residents yearn for two days of rain.

Funeral for Little Charles Nance Held at Home
The funeral for four year old Charles Henry Nance, son of Mr and Mrs Henry B Nance, occurred at their east Grachtinger residence on Thursday afternoon at one o clock. Rev J Mekkelson led the service and burial was in Batherville cemetery. The family recently moved to town and the community offers heartfelt sympathy. Emmetsburg Has Fine School Paper. The Times printed the Gleaner, Emmetsburg’s new twelve page school paper, well printed and notably newsy, a fine example of school activity and pupil training.
