Graettinger High School hosted the Ruthven Jazz Band on Thursday with several band soloists and a director led solo Autumn Leaves by Mark Almquist. After Swing Show selections an encore impressed the audience and the Ruthven Swing Choir plans a Ruthven visit hoping for similar success.

Greg Peton of Graettinger co chairs Buena Vista College third annual Muscular Dystrophy Dance Marathon set for Friday and Saturday April 12 at the campus YMCA gym. The 30 hour event begins 6 p.m. Friday with sponsors pledged by dancing couples to support hours completed. Proceeds aid MDA research and clinics. Peton is a BV junior and son of Paul Peton Jr.
