Dance Raises Funds for Camp Sunnyside with Pony Express Ride
Good turnout at the American Legion dance in Graettinger netted 224.75 for Cripple Children of Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines. Police chief Gilbert Steuve, organizer, will depart April 16 for a two day horseback ride, collecting more funds along the route from Graettinger to Emmetsburg and county line, with riders joining later.

Elsenbast Places in Swine Judging Contest At Emmetsburg
Robert Banwart of Cylinder won the live show with a 235 pound market hog in the Palo Alto County Market Hog Show held in Emmetsburg. Judges named Banwart best of 36 entries. second went to Paul Corweiler of Mallard, with a field of ten more winners and junior and senior judging prizes awarded. Diane Miner was named a delegate to Democratic conventions at Palo Alto County event recap.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Emmetsburg on March 25 from 1 to 7 pm at Bethany Lutheran and West Bend on March 26 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Community Center. A May 10 state convention delegate list includes three Carter supporters from Emmetsburg Eleanor Coffey Scott Kerber and Miner with Graettinger attendees Chris Petersen and Don Graettinger. A goal of 200 pints of blood is set and appointments are available if needed.

Gerald Weber and his daughter Diana were in the crowd as the Booster Bucks drawing occurred. Weber missed the $50 prize when his name was called during the Saturday event held in town. Diana will root for the Pirates at the State Basketball Tournament Wednesday.
