Poland Thoreson Elected Monday At Graettinger Board
Poland and Thoreson were re elected to the Graettinger Community Apartments board of directors Monday afternoon at the annual shareholders meeting. Finances were discussed as the group, which runs a four plex and a five plex for senior citizens, plans a ground breaking for a third complex. Other board members include Lloyd Comelia, Tommy Thomser, Rev Otto Rietz, Earnie Andreason and Lloyd Petersen. Poland and Thoreson were re elected for three year terms.

Local Youths Dance in Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy
Graettinger youths Greg Peton Lowell Jacobson Sharor Rustard and Sharon Wikert will participate in Dance Marathon for Muscular Dystrophy at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake this weekend. The event begins Friday evening and lasts thirty hours. Pledges are sought from Graettinger residents, with contact for pledges via Lowell Jacobson at 859 3452.

Local woman breaks hip in icy fall
Mrs. Chris Lastine slipped on ice Monday afternoon outside her home while walking to her mailbox and suffered a broken hip. Neighbors notified an ambulance that transported her to Holy Family Hospital in Estherville where she was admitted. her husband Chris Lastine, bedridden at home, was taken to the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Baby Born At Home In Premature Delivery
A three pound baby boy was born at the Mustard home early Monday. Parents delivered the infant before an ambulance arrived. Omer Gjerde and Russell Lastine transported mother and baby to Estherville at 5:15 am. The mother improved at Holy Family Hospital. the infant was moved to a Sioux City hospital for specialized care.

Former Resident Dead at Age 73 in Minnesota
A long time Palo Alto County resident Fred Lippold, 73, died February 11 1976 in Park Rapids Minnesota. Born July 13 1902 he sold real estate at Park Rapids 1940 to 1950 and once lived in Graettinger He was a Justice of Peace and ran a Graettinger real estate office. Survived by wife Maude a daughter a son two stepdaughters. Private memorial service held.
