Funeral for Paul Paulsen Held After Danish Birth
The funeral of Paul Paulsen who died February 17 was held Sunday at the Lutheran church with Rev. Sande and Rev. Hansen officiating. Remains were buried at South Walnut cemetery in a large community gathering. Paulsen, born February 8 1844 in Denmark, immigrated to the U S in 1880 with his wife Anna Maria Lund. He left four sons two of whom survive and two stepsons and two stepdaughters. A respected Graettinger citizen he was described as warm hearted generous and devoted to family and community. The Times extends sympathy to surviving relatives.

Funeral Held At Newcastle Nebraska For Mrs Ida Cummins
Mrs Ida Cummins of Newcastle Nebraska died February 21 and her funeral was held at the Congregational church in Newcastle with burial in the local cemetery. She was born Ilda Emily Noble on July 19 1889 at Plankinton South Dakota and moved with her family to Palo Alto County in 1887. She married R J Cummins in 1911 and leaves five children, her husband, her parents, five sisters and a brother. The community expresses deep sorrow for the loss of a Christian mother and wife.

Louie Smith a 35 year old single man from the John Brennan farm east of Grachtinger suffers acute blood poisoning after a rusty nail pierced his knee while repairing property Saturday morning. He dressed the wound himself but deteriorated. neighbors called the doctor and he is hospitalized at Coleman hospital in Estherville. Attending physicians express little hope for recovery as of Sunday and Monday. He has two sisters near Ringsted and other relatives in Ceylon Minnesota.
