The Northwest Iowa District Rose Show unfolds Sunday June 26 from 1 30 p m to 5 p m at Iowa Lakes Community College Emmetsburg featuring color classes for Hybrid Tea Grandiflora Floribunda Rambler Climber and Miniature roses with Novice and Junior divisions open to all and open classes for arrangements. Henry M Larsen recounts youth adventures in Montana circa 1913 including his brothers Westward moves from Graettinger Eastern Montana and his early exposure to travel by bicycle and a two cylinder Indian motorcycle his education at Iowa State and career as a mechanical engineer before settling in Estherville now aging 81 and active with the Historical Society of Estherville drafting plans for a new museum

Marilyn and Paul Frick posted the low score at Graettinger Country Club Couples Night last Friday. Russell Jones had the shortest drive on No 1 and Suzanne Fisher the longest drive for the ladies on No 1. Most putts went to Russell Jones Heidecker and Jones Bob Carter and Don Iverson. The Graettinger Midgets defeated West Bend Bulldogs 11-4 in five innings on Friday June 17. Brian Westergaard earned the win for Graettinger as the Pirates struck early with eight runs in the first inning and cruised to victory.
