Start Drive on Cutworm
Cutworms are unusually numerous this year and best controlled with the paper collar method around the stem of susceptible plants such as tomatoes and cabbage. Lift shingles daily to kill worms under them, dig around plants to remove worms, and use a poison bran mixture moistened with sweetened water and Paris green. Scatter after sundown to avoid drying out. Also dip bundles of weed or clover in Paris green solution and place them nearby to attract and kill worms. Keep chickens away from the bran.
