The Rock Island will run an excursion train to Spirit Lake Sunday August 8. A ground trip rate from Graet Stinger to Spirit Lake and return is offered. Train departs at 9 a m and returns from Spirit Lake at 6 30 p m. Very low rate expected and many will take advantage.

Mrs. Jensen Dies After Long Illness Funeral Held
Mrs. R Jensen died Friday after months of illness. funeral Sunday at one P M at home and Lutheran church in South Walnut with Rev H P K Hansen officiating. Born October 5 1848 in Jutland Denmark she emigrated to America with Rasmus Jensen in 1869 and died July 25 1924 in Graettinger Iowa. Surviving children include Chris R James Peter Albert Mrs Minnie Jacobsen and Mea Lona Hansen with twenty eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. The obituary honors her devout Christian life and roles as mother neighbor and asset to the community.
