Peter Fogde Dies In Graettinger At 67

Peter C Fogde died at his home in Graettinger after two weeks of illness following a long decline. Born March 22 1804 in Fyrenrk he came to the area and worked as a carpenter and woodworker. Funeral services were held at Homstead Lutheran church with Rev M Manager officiating and internment in the parochial cemetery. Pallbearers named John Bondhus Chris Bertin Clara Jensen Jorgen Anderson John Simonsen and Jacob Brekke. Continued on Page Five.

Eight year old hurt by binder sickle in field accident

The eight year old son of Antone Guerdet was badly cut on both legs Tuesday of last week by the sickle of a binder while his father worked a tractor and binder. The father stopped to adjust the carburetter, kerosene dripped and caught fire, and the boy, thinking his father stopped to pull weeds, was struck by the sickle. The injuries did not sever cords in his legs and recovery is expected to be rapid.

Selmar Nelson Home Again After Mayo Hospital Stay

Selmar Nelson, buttermaker at the Fallow creamery, returned home from Rochester Monday after a three week Mayo hospital stay. He is rapidly recovering his health and strength following a long illness that kept him from work since March fifth. An assistant has been at the creamery to manage the business while he recuperates, and he will handle bookwork and lighter duties for the coming weeks until strength returns.
