The Northwest Central Luther League held its annual convention July 18–20 at Lost Island church. Delegates from Cylinder Emmetsburg Estherville Graettinger Immanuel Little Sioux Lost Island Ruthven Union State Line attended. Officers elected included Norman Norland Cylinder president Theo Hermanson Lost Island vice president Emma Johnson State Line recording secretary Nora Knutson Ruthven corresponding secretary Lerdall Estherville treasurer and C F Walden Wallingford charts director. Boy Nearly Killed By Farm Sickle Accident
A five year old boy, father Mr Toothman, was playing near a hay mower on a Halfa area farm last Tuesday afternoon. The mower severed the ankle, leaving the foot hanging by skin and vessels. Dr Bossingham attended, attempting to save the foot, seen as a possible miracle.

A Church Wedding in Walnut Township
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St Pauls Danish Church Walnut township on Thursday evening last week at 8 30. Emil Nathan Simonsen of Minneapolis and Olive Genivive Bakken of Sioux Falls were united in marriage. About two hundred guests attended as Rev N P Simonsen performed the ceremony. Afterward a reception was held at the groom’s home. The couple will live in Minneapolis where the groom is employed in a hotel. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Engebore Peterson of Sioux Falls South Dakota. The couple are regarded as fine young people and the town offers warm congratulations.
