Mrs John Hansen of this city died suddenly July 8 1983 after a fall from an accident with a nestream pressure cooker causing burns and hip injury. She died of heart failure at Estherville hospital with her husband and family at her side. The funeral was held Friday.
The Thomas Thoreson Estate quarter section southwest of Graettinger sold for 68 dollars per acre at auction in Emmetsburg. The buyer was a Minnesota gentleman, with H M Hel Ken of Emmetsburg acting as agent. The price was deemed exceptionally low for the farm noted for fine improvements and tiling. A Fort Dodge couple, Mr and Mrs John McNulty, appeared in the Des Moines Register photo section beside a 12 foot rose bush, pictured with their ages and names.
Mra P F Conton sister of P C Jackman of Emmetaburg is very low in a sanitarium at Dubuque. Saturday her physician said she would live but a few hours Graettinger friends will learn with sorrow of her serious condition.

Ralph V. Coter, Graettinger High School principal, was hired as Curlew School superintendent. He was elected last Thursday evening after requesting release from his contract, with the Graettinger board granting the move to pursue a promotion.

Miss Frances Nolan daughter of Mr. and Mrs C G Nolan of Graettinger area and Jay Joseph Donahue son of Mr. and Mrs J H Donahue of Emmetsburg wed at Immaculate Conception church in Graettinger with Father Kelly presiding. Best man Edward Donahue and bridesmaid Nora Nolan attended. Bride wore white organdy and bridesmaid blue. music included I Love You Truly and Oh Promise Me. A wedding breakfast followed at the bride’s home. The couple left for a South Dakota honeymoon and will reside in Emmetsburg area where the groom farms.
