Railroad Engineer Larry McCormick Retires at 70
Larry McCormick, longtime North Country rail man, ends a 50 year career on the St. Lawrence division. He piloted White Mountain flyer between Oswego and Massena Springs, later the Paul Smith Special for Adirondack summer traffic, then shifted to freight from Norwood to Dekalb. He recalls coal engines, 63 hours to reach Norwood from Watertown, and a life without a single injury.
