Funeral Of Mrs Grace Raymer Held Saturday

Grace Helena Hester Raymer died in El Paso Texas at 27 years. Her funeral, a Catholic funeral Mass, honored in Graettinger with Father Kelly officiating, followed by burial in the Catholic cemetery. Survived by husband George Raymer and daughter Hester Catherine, parents John and Mrs. Hester, three sisters and a brother.

Clarence Westfall and Clara Hansen Married

Clarence Westfall son of E. B. Westfall and Clara Hansen daughter of John Hansen of Lost Island township united in marriage at Esther ville on Tuesday January 18. Ceremony held at the M. E. B. parsonage. They will live on a Spies farm in Twelve Mile Lake township. Both are well known and receive hearty congratulations from the community.

American Legion Dance Set for February 16 at Woodman Hall

Next Monday evening February 16 American Legion plans an event at Woodman hall. Moore's four piece orchestra of Natherville will provide music and a prize waltz will be held with all welcome to attend.

Vernon Township Vernon Workers Hold All Day Meeting February 3

The Vernon Workers met at the home of Mrs Mundhus Hetland with an all day session and a covered dish luncheon. Eighteen ladies attended. They made fireless cookers and assessed materials from Ed Anderson and Mrs Levi Kaltvid. A talk on The Step Saving Kitchen followed. A Mother and Baby Clinic was announced for February 24 at Mrs Manchus Fretland with two doctors and a nurse. The next meeting is March 8 at Mrs Will Sloniker’s home.

Graettinger Beats Spirit Lake 34 to 22 in Fast Game

Graettinger defeated Spirit Lake 34 to 22 in a fast clean basketball game. The score was 21 to 11 at halftime and 32 to 12 after the third period. Spirit Lake rallied in the closing quarter to win 10 to 2. Paulsen was the outstanding player, with Johnson also contributing strongly. Referee Supt. White officiated well.

Andersons to Move to Cedar Rapids Auction Next Saturday

Will move to Cedar Rapids the first of March for new opportunities. Mr. Bert Anderson has secured a job there and will sell his household goods, horses, and other property at auction sale next Saturday. Friends regret their departure from the community.

Social time on Wednesday evening February 18 features Moore's orchestra in a dance hosted by the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. The prior two dances drew large crowds and a splendid time was had, with invitations extended to all to attend next Wednesday night.

Mrs Sena Christiansen of Graettinger is noted as a proud grandmother with the arrival of a baby girl at the home of Mr and Mrs Fred Graettinger on Sunday. Hearty congratulations are extended.

Pioneer Palo Alto woman Mrs Rierson dies aged 82

Mrs Halvor T Rierson a pioneer resident of Lost Island in Palo Alto county died last Thursday after months of illness. Funeral held at Lost Island church with Rev L O Wignahl officiating. Remains interred in parish cemetery. Neighbors and old friends attended. pallbearers named Rierson and Knutson family members. Born June 15 1842 in Norway she immigrated in 1871 to Clayton county Iowa then Palo Alto. The Riersons were thrifty hardy settlers active in community work. The Times extends sympathy to her husband and relatives.

Social Dance Friday at Woodmen Hall
