Obituary for Gehard Spoo in Graettinger Illinois
Gehard Spoo, grandfather of Mrs. Joe Lyons of Graettinger, died in Murphysboro Illinois on Sunday February 10 at age 79. He was born November 2 1855 in Germany and came to Iowa settling near Fort Dodge before most of his life was spent in northwestern Iowa. He married Mary Ferger about 58 years ago and had nine children, six living. Funeral held at the Catholic church in Graettinger with Rev L J Savage officiating. interment in Catholic cemetery beside his wife. Six grandsons served as pallbearers. The Times extends sympathy to the Lyons family and relatives.
