Peter Hansen Dies After Long Illness at 64
Peter Hansen of Gracttinger township died Saturday evening after several weeks of illness and previous strokes. Born in Denmark April 12 1874 he came to the United States in 1888 and spent most of his life farming locally. He married Minnie Neilsen in 1900 and is survived by his wife two daughters Mrs John Westergard and Mrs Harold Jorgensen and son Elmer plus a brother James Hansen and four grandchildren. The funeral was at home and Danish Lutheran church. Interment in South Walnut cemetery.

Vrank L. Schurmann father of F E Schurmann of Graettinger died at his daughter Miss Carrie’s home in Fort Benton Montana on Wednesday February 6 following a brief illness. He was a Watertown pioneer since 1880 and survived by his wife one daughter and four sons. The funeral was held in Watertown with burial in South Dakota.

Mrs Baxla Jacobsen died Friday at Cherokee after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Gruettinger at the home and Wirat Scandinavian Lutheran church, with burial east of town. Survived by husband Basta Jacobsen eleven children eight at home, and many relatives.
