Thomas Bondhus son of Mr and Mrs John Bondhus west of Graettinger and Miss Elizabeth Spica of Graettinger were married at Akron Lutheran parsonage on December 21. A wedding dinner followed at the bride’s home. The couple will honeymoon in Graettinger before returning to Akron to reside. Bondhus will teach locally while his bride-to-be teaches in Akron. Den Danish Pioneer Jens Petersen Passes Away at 91
Jens Christian Petersen, aged 91, died Friday morning at his daughter Mrs S P Duhn s home after a long illness. Born in Denmark August 15 1835 he emigrated to the United States in 1895. He farmed in Palo Alto county and North Dakota before settling in Graettinger where he lived until his death. He leaves seven living children, 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Danish Lutheran church with Rev Axel M Andersen officiating. The procession proceeded to the parochial cemetery in South Walnut for burial. The Times extends sympathy to his family.
