Girl Swallowed Radium Capsule by Mistake

She underwent surgery to recover the radium valued at 3000 dollars and is now a patient at University hospital Iowa City. Fire destroys McNew corn crib and car near Graettinger
A Monday evening blaze at the Earl McNew farm south of Graettinger destroyed a 24 by 24 by 10 corn crib and a Chevrolet sedan. About 1,500 bushels of corn and 22 bushels of seed corn were lost along with the car. Insurance covered the buildings, but the corn and most of the other personal items were uninsured.
