Funeral of Sgt Lyle Green Held at Opera House
The funeral of Sergeant Lyle E. Green was held Friday morning at the opera house with Rev H C Riley officiating. He died December 2 after influenza and pneumonia. Interment followed in Rolfe Iowa. Green, born October 15 1894 in New City Iowa, served as a sergeant in aviation at Bayron Field Everman Texas and was praised as a good soldier and gentleman by his officers.

Midnight Visitors Nabs J P Wagner in Stolen Goods Alarm
J P Wagner of this place halted a man leaving the rear of H N Osher's store around 1 30 Monday morning. A car in the alley carried items from the store and Wagner, armed with a flash light and revolver, confronted a man who turned out to be Osher, the store owner, who had gone to the store to retrieve goods amid heavy rain. Wagner believed a robbery was underway and warned the party, but the incident revealed a misidentification and restraint followed.
