Michael Mulligan died after a long illness at an advanced age. He is survived by two daughters and five sons, with eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Catholic church, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

Peter Miller Not An Acrobat in Coal Wagon Accident
Peter Miller, a first class farmer, says he is not an acrobat. Last week while hauling coal to the threshing rig, his wagon struck a rock, throwing him from the load. He fell on his side, struck a coal chunk, and suffered painful injuries but no bones were broken, leaving him laid up for several days.

Mrs Anderson's Father Dies in New York State
Mrs. W. D. Anderson of Harriman Tennessee mourns the death of her father Mr. Goundrey who died at his New York home Thursday July 31 funeral held the following Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Goundrey had recently visited Graettinger and many friends extend sympathy to Mrs. Anderson and her mother in their sorrow.
Lightning strikes hit barns and homes in Graettinger area
An electrical storm damaged Hulls barn and hay stack. A granary on Mrs J IL Mahan’s farm south of Graettinger suffered little damage after a lightning strike. Earlier, Chris Clemensen’s home and John Bondhus’s barn were struck with varying damage. Electrical alarms during the year were frequent and costly.

Flag Pole Struck by Lightning Falls on Robbins Avenue

Charles Schmuck Dies From Injuries in Fall
Charles Schmuck died at Coleman hospital Estherville after a surgical operation for a fractured thigh suffered when he fell from scaffolding while carpenter work. He was 67, a Graettinger resident with many friends, survived by daughters Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Kelly, with funeral services at the M E church and burial at Rolfe beside his wife.
