Prospects of a larger apple crop in Iowa improves
H B Nichols of the Iowa State College extension service says Towa has a better outlook for a quit crop this year after two to three years of concern. Factors include more pruning, early frosts, a dry year reducing fruit, and recent rains reviving disease pressure with expectations of late apple scab and codling moth spray timing from July 24–Aug 1 in different state regions.
