Short Term Loans Plan For Area Farmers
The Farm Credit Administration outlined short term credit plans at a March 16 meeting of the Emmetsburg Production Credit Association board. Directors from multiple towns elected Bueck as President and Bode as Vice President, with Hueck, Currans, and Bode appointed to the loan committee. Townsend was named Secretary Treasurer. The Production Credit Corporation of Omaha subscribed $60,000 in stock and will contribute $80,000 initially, enabling operations within about two weeks. The capital will back a $400,000 line of credit pledged with the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank to serve farmers in Dickinson Emmet Kossuth Palo Alto and Clay counties. Borrowers must offer satisfactory security and an approved repayment plan. The association covers short term needs for crops, livestock, poultry, production and dairying. Attendees included executives from the Omaha corporation and local representatives.
