Mrs John O Connor Dies After Four Month Illness
Mrs John O Connor of this city died Tuesday noon after a four month illness. Funeral held at ten with Father Kelly at the Catholic church. She leaves a husband John O Connor a daughter Mrs Eugene McCarty and siblings in New York. Born in Ireland February 1848 she came to the U S in 1867 and settled in Palo Alto then Graettinger. Mr O Connor still owns the farm. they moved here sixteen years ago seeking rest and comfort. The deceased was a devout Christian mother and neighbor greatly mourned by all.

Died at St Paul LuVerna Johnson Story
LuVerna Johnson daughter of P. G. Johnson died Monday morning at a St Paul hospital after tubercular peritonitis progressed. Born June 7, 1920 in Worthington, she lived in Worthington and Swea City area before passing away at age 19. Funeral services were held in St Paul then Worthington. She is survived by her father stepmother four brothers and three sisters. The Times extends sympathy to relatives.

Professor Maria L Sanford former University of Minnesota faculty member died in Washington D C Tuesday night. She was at the national meeting of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had addressed them. Death followed heart failure and her passing was not discovered until breakfast on Wednesday.

Iowa Expands Road Paving Contracts This Summer
Iowa has let contracts for 108 miles of brick or concrete roads and plans to complete 150 more this summer per the Iowa Highway Commission figures. Cerro Gordo leads with 28.1 miles of concrete, Scott second with 21.7 miles of brick, and O'Brien third with 21.5 miles of concrete. Prices range from 8.59 to 4.87 per square yard for concrete and 6.43 to 5.93 for brick. Contracts were approved by county supervisors though not yet by the highway commission. state officials had 350 miles in sight for 1920 but expected only 60 miles due to shortages, with Minnesota Illinois and Wisconsin contractors already taking 40 miles.
