Redwood forests saved by reforestation drive
San Francisco reports intensified efforts to preserve the Sequoia sempervirens on the North Coast. The Save-the-Redwood League, joined by Franklin K. Lane and others, has freed 15 615 acres from logging and plans a 20 000 acre national redwood park. Lumbermen back reforestation, with seedlings from nurseries at Scotia Fort Bragg and Cappar, and annual planting targets rising to 10 000 acres.
