James Refsell of Wallingford Dies After Long Illness
James Refsell, Emmet county pioneer, died Monday at Wallingford after months of illness dating to February 5. Born in Modum Norway July 31, 1860, he lived in High Lake township and served as president of the Farmers Savings Bank at Wallingford. Survived by wife Annie, children Emma and Oscar, three brothers, and one grandchild. Services Wednesday at Wallingford Lutheran Church. burial in church cemetery.

Bad Wreck In Minnesota Causes Fires And Blocked Track
Six freight cars jumped from a Minnesota freight train between Lake Crystal and Mankato on Friday. The cars crashed into a bank, with a gasoline car igniting a fire that spread to an oil car and a kerosene car. Eight cars burned, including an oil car, a brown sugar car, a lumber car, and two empties. Oil leaked, burned, and the line was blocked for hours as crews warned nearby farmers to move stock and vacate premises.

Adam Domek aged 84 longtime Palo Alto County resident died suddenly at Spirit Lake Monday. The funeral was held there Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kliegl of Fairfield and Henry Miller of south of town among those in attendance.

Losses Toll From Sunday Farm Blaze Near Malfa
W E Reed suffered heavy losses Sunday as fire destroyed his crib and granary, machine shed, and chicken house on his farm owned by B S George. He lost a near new Ford truck and several implements. 700 bushels of corn and 300 bushels of oats were burned.
