The Editor notes unseasonably warm sunny days and Easter spirits lifting. Winds hamper fishing but field work and planting accelerate. gardeners work soils and many plan to plant. Weather prompts updated irrigation and outdoor activity while a school board meeting details payroll, resignations, and plans for construction.
Word has been received of James G Morison, a retired Western Electric engineer with 35 years service and World War I veteran who died Tuesday at Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village. Survived by wife Dorothy, daughter Patricia, son James Sanford Morison, stepdaughters Ann Raschke and Sally Pratt and many grandchildren.
Wallingford residents hosted a large Easter gathering with guests from Kansas Minnesota Iowa and local towns including Debra and Mark Brenner Verland Brenner Myron Brenner Gary Crandall Maurice Becker Gary McQuown Tracy Tonya and Pegay McQuown plus Darlene Snitzger Theresa Koostra and Bea Koostra among others at Pillsbury College Owatonna and nearby communities.
The Lost Island Lucky Stars held a regular meeting on April 9 at Karen Petersen’s house. Sharon called the meeting to order at 2:00, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Kelly, and roll call asked to name a food and forms of it found in a store.
Grachtinger Community Township School District updates its quarterly financial statement covering Walnut Palo Alto County and Eminet. The summary of proceedings outlines budgets revenues expenditures and board actions taken during the period.
The regular April meeting convened at 7 30 p m in the Superintendent's office on April 11 1977. Mss Louise Voigt appointed district secretary effective July 1 1977 and will attend eight inservice meetings at Cylinder from April 14 to June 2. All Iowa districts will switch to 14 digit financial accounting by July 1 1979, replacing five digit accounting.
