Since the last report we have received 2.01 inches of rain. This includes a major rainfall on April 12 and 13 totaling 1.30 inches. Last Monday, April 18, another 0.25 inch was recorded bringing April's total to 3.01 inches.

The Northwest Regional Library System trustees will meet April 25, 1977, at Carroll Public Library in Carroll Iowa. The session starts at 4:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
John D Brown of Emmetsburg Iowa has been chosen for inclusion in the 1977 Outstanding Young Men of America edition. The program co sponsors are United States Jaycees and other civic groups. The selection honors voluntary service leadership and achievements across fields.
Brian Boustead Shirlene Tindall Teresa Schany Jerome Schealler and Mark Petersen are accepted by Iowa Lakes Community College for the Fall 1977 term. Boustead plans the College Parallel program at Estherville and Emmetsburg campuses. Shirlene and Teresa enter the Licensed Practical Nursing program at the Emmetsburg South Attendance Center. Jerome and Mark join the Auto Body Mechanics program at the Emmetsburg South Attendance Center. The programs prepare for transfer to four-year colleges or provide vocational training with clinicals and licensing exams. Forty-eight have been accepted into the nursing program.
Terris Community High School held a combined spring Pops Concert featuring Terris bands and choirs, plus junior high and elementary groups. Directors Len Erickson and Lynn Swan led performances of 70s to 40s tunes, a first-time song Walk Away by Kay Starkey, and crowd favorites amid night club style decor and homemade treats.
Lois Graettinger and Cheryl Weber were received into the local Catholic Daughters of America court in a colors filled ceremony at Immaculate Conception Parish Center Graettinger Iowa on April 11 at 8 p.m. District deputy Delores Mertz of Ottosen accompanied by Minerva Montag of West Bend welcomed the new members into Court Mary Immaculate 1710. Local officers wore colorful caps and robes with insignia. A lunch followed the meeting with Agnes Girres pouring coffee and Emma Murphy serving punch.
Funeral services for Henry Heine T Miller are set for 10 00 a m today in Graettinger Iowa. He died April 19 1977 at Palo Alto Hospital Emmetsburg after a stroke born February 26 1905 Charter Oak Iowa survived by wife Flossie two sisters Kathryn Alexander Omaha and Helen Henrichsen Denison Iowa. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery Estherville. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery Estherville. Fullswan Funeral Home Graettinger in charge. He was preceded in death by one daughter in 1948 his parents two brothers and three sisters.
Gertrude Oppedal, 96, formerly of Estherville Graettinger area, died Sunday at Lakeside Lutheran Home Emmetsburg. Services 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Lightle Hayes Ruthven with Rev William Smith officiating. Interment Lost Island Lutheran Church Cemetery rural Ruthven. Born December 5, 1880 in Soga Norway to Torkel and Ma Oppedal. Came to the United States at 30, first settling at Stanhope. Later moved to Palo Alto County and Estherville Graettinger area. She never married and did housekeeping as occupation.
